Our Services
We offer a personal home care and support service for all adults who need help and support living at home. Whether that help is full personal care, several times a day, help with housework and shopping or just for the occasional trip out, Care Connected will provide a tailored plan of support that puts you at the centre.
Elderly care
We believe that our elders should be respected and valued. Many have worked hard serving their families and the wider community. It is because of this work ethic and strong spirit that some find it a difficult to make the adjustment to receive help. We understand this and do everything we can to support you through this adjustment. We aim to preserve your independence, respect your values, choices and wishes by implementing a support plan that puts you at the centre. We will tailor your care package specifically to your needs, whether that may be full time care or help with your housework or shopping.
Mental Health Support
With vast experience in psychological counselling techniques and support therapy we have an understanding of the crippling effect that mental illness can have on the person suffering and others close to them. We realise that 'snapping out of it' will never work. After talking though your needs we will offer you a full assessment and with your help devise a plan of support. This may be setting achievable goals, helping you with daily living tasks, basic counselling and self-help techniques.
USEFUL INFO
Care Connected provides care for private clients, health care funded clients and social service funded service users. We serve the elderly, adults with physical and learning disabilities and provide specialist support for people living with dementia and mental health problems.
PERSONAL BUDGETS
Some of our clients have opted to receive personal budgets from both Southend and Essex social services to fund their care. Following an assessment with social services you are entitled to ask for a personal budget rather than have the council manage your care and support. A personal budget puts you in charge of how you wish to spend the money social services have assessed you need. This means that you can approach and hire the services of companies such as Care Connected. Both Essex (Essex Coalition of Disabled People) and Southend (Vibrance) Social services work with organisations who can act as brokers to help people manage their budgets and take the headache of invoicing and administration away from the individual. Of course, individuals may prefer to manage this independently. Both ECDP and Vibrance offer a very good advice service on personal budgets as well as many other matters.
COST OF CARE
This largely depends of the service you require. In many cases we are able to offer substantial discounts especially if clients live close together and/or who have visit times close together. We realise that the cost of care can mount up and we are constantly trying to find ways to make payments more affordable and yet still keep our excellent standard. We are open to negotiating prices and payment terms with our clients. As a company we try to be as flexible as possible. Care Connected will always offer discounts to people who receive continuing healthcare funding and personal budgets from social services. We can also give you advice and help with applying for Attendance Allowance - a non means tested government allowance that helps supplement your care. Care Connected do not charge for care needs assessments and formal face to face reviews of care. These are free of charge.
WE CAN HELP
Fortunately society is beginning to value the contribution that people with learning disabilities have to offer. The personalisation agenda and government white papers such as 'Valuing People Now' have given a much needed voice to this community. Care Connected can offer a wide range of support such as assistance with personal care, life skills development, accessing the community and also our very own drama and performing arts group.
